Analytic Number Theory
A conference celebrating the work and impact of Henryk Iwaniec
About the Conference
The conference will focus on analytic number theory and its evolving interactions with related fields. The ideas of Henryk Iwaniec have had tremendous influence and a profound impact on these areas.
Analytic number theory has made immense progress during the last years, leading to the spectacular resolution of many long-standing conjectures, and the insights of Henryk Iwaniec have played a key role in these developments.
About Henryk Iwaniec
Henryk Iwaniec has been one of the leading figures in analytic number theory since the beginning of his career in 1972 at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
He is currently the New Jersey Professor of Mathematics at Rutgers University. His work has had a profound influence on modern analytic number theory, especially in the development of sieve methods, automorphic forms, and applications of harmonic analysis to number theory.
Iwaniec is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and recipient of numerous major distinctions, including the Ostrowski Prize, the Cole Prize in Number Theory, the Steele Prize for Mathematical Exposition, the Shaw Prize, and the AMS Doob Prize.
His foundational books remain essential reading for generations of researchers in modern analytic number theory.
